“Her heart was wild, but I didn’t want to catch it, I wanted to run with it, to set mine free.”
I am so excited to share this styled elopement with you. It is filled with romance and adventure.
Rebecca from Runaway Romance who is absolutely brilliant at what she does came up with this amazing concept for this shoot. An adventure filled styled elopement shoot to showcase how great elopements can be. Like Rebecca, I also share a passion for intimate, non traditional nuptials so I jumped (and sang and did cart wheels) at the chance to photograph this elopement. Rebecca also did the coordination, flowers and styling of the shoot.
Martja from Nupt Bridal (you just have to follow this talented lady, her dresses are detailed and perfect for the free spirited bride) created the most perfect feminine, bohemian dress for the shoot. She also did the styling of both the bride and groom.
Hair and make up was done by the lovely Courtney Chadwick. Courtney was a rock star on the day and even hiked to the waterfall with all of us while she was 5 months pregnant. Talk about being committed to the job 🙂
Colleen from Lieflingkind created all the unique stationery for the shoot.
We wanted to show what an elopement could be like so we started off the day with a hike to a waterfall where the lovebirds would be saying their vows. Before this could happen Rebecca created an open-air dressing room in the middle of a pine forest. This kept to the traditional aspect of a wedding by getting ready separately. This also created a nice moment when they saw each other for the first time.
Another great reason to consider an elopement besides the stress that a big wedding can create is that you get to say your vows in a unique location. In this case in front of a waterfall.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a picnic style meal together followed by a walk along the escarpement to enjoy the first sunset of the rest of their lives together.
I hope this shoot inspires you!
