James & Meghan | Ulusaba, Sabi Sands
James & Megan met at a pool party on Memorial Day weekend in Houston, Texas, where Meghan is from and where James was working at the time (he is from the UK).
While on holiday in Italy (one of my favoutite countries to visit fyi) they explored Sienna, Florence, Rome and hit up Tuscany in the middle of the trip. James planned for an Italian driver with a vintage Mercedes to drive us around to a few vineyards for tastings and James proposed at the last one. How romantic!
James and Meghan decided to elope while on Safari in South Africa and chose Richard Branson's private game reserve in Sabi Sands (greater Kruger National Park) Ulusaba.
If you didn't know I really - like really really - love the bush. Its my favourite place to unwind and relax. So when I get to combine my love for the bush with my love for photographing newlyweds I am one happy girl. So I was extremely honoured and excited to photograph this elopement.
Their day just got better and better. Filled with one surprise after the other.
A few highlights were the Ulusaba choir started singing after they were announced husband and wife. Another one was while we were out on our couple shoot game drive we spotted a beautiful female leopard and got to send some time following her around while the evening light disappeard. To finish off a spectacular day in Africa Meghan and James were suprised with a private dinner in the middle of the bush. Surrounded my hundreds of lantens and whooping hyenas this elopement was one for the books.
